Wighton Heritage Centre 4 February 2026
Workshop supported by Leisure & Culture Dundee

Participants were 15 senior students from Dundee schools including violins, violas and cellos. The aim of the workshop was to develop ensemble playing through worksing on quartet arrangements with the focus on dynamics, expression and tone.
The participants worked together on arrangment of a Mozart quartet and Schubert’s Death and the Maiden.
Q: Can you tell me something new you learnt that day?
A1: I learnt about music from different parts of the world and the different ways of playing the music on my instrument

Following the workshop the participants performed the quartets in front of an enthusiastic audience.
The quartets were followed by a solo recital by Nikodem featuring music from the famous collection of violin music at the Wighton Heritage Centre.
